Creativity

I believe that there are two kinds of people in this world - the outwardly motivated and the inwardly motivated. And within this thin line of separation lies the seeds of creativity.

The outwardly motivated people are those that can get you what you want. They are the people who tend to excel at the execution of a plan. They can get anything they aim for, but they don't set their own goals.

The inwardly motivated people have something inside them that they need to express. It's like a flourishing plant that cannot be contained in a small pot. They set their own goals and they chase that dream because it fulfills them.

I'm sure that most people have a mixture of both, but I do believe that the "creative" people of today's society are the inwardly motivated ones. They march to the beat of their own drum and it doesn't matter who (or who doesn't) follows. They make high risk choices which, if the stars align, will turn out high returns.

Unfortunately, at this point in time, I have realised that I am the former of the two. I don't have anything inside that I have to show the world, I don't have anything that I desperately need to tell the world...I don't even have much ambition burning for myself.

I know that I can get anywhere I want to go...except that I'm lacking in direction. Some people fumble at the crossroads, while I have trouble even finding the damn road.

Here's hoping that a map flies by, or at least some dusty road signs turn up soon..

Desserts and Screaming Girls

Things have been up and down lately (as usual) so here's a quick list of what's been going on lately.

Up:
1. My mood.
Exams are over, my marshmallow making attempts have been successful, and I just made profiteroles today!

2. The heat. It's nasty and humid, do I have to say more?

3. My hair. See number 2.

4. My weight. Do you know what's been coming out of my kitchen lately? See number 1.

Down:
1. Girl cramps suck.

2. When it decides to rain, it pours. Very odd weather, this.

3. Screaming teenage girls on the bus..I wish I could deliver a slap to the face to each of them. Saying 'fuck' loudly and unnecessarily does NOT make you cool, ladies.

Hopefully the weather (and bus rides) gets easier to bear..maybe a cold custard tonight will help it along.

Wanna pose nude? You might not have a choice.

A new x-ray machine is being tested out in the UK is apparently able to see right through clothing. (Click here for the whole article) The whole idea behind this is that some passengers feel really uncomfortable getting the 'ol pat down.

The good thing about this is that it's now harder to conceal weapons. This machine is even powerful enough to show implants and piercings and even the outline of genitals, so what's a gun here and there? The big reassurance that they are trying to give everyone is that the pictures will only show up for a few seconds and then will be deleted forever.

BUT. Can you imagine if a celebrity walks through and someone wants to make a few quick bucks? Such risky ground there. Also, as someone who flies quite regularly, I really don't feel comfortable walking through the metal detectors and having an x-ray taken.

Maybe they can provide a choice of the pat down or the x-ray. That way, travelers can choose between the two evils.

Meanwhile, I don't think I'll be traveling through the UK anytime soon.

Waiting

Waiting for the bus sucks.

..using the wifi signal while waiting however, makes up for it.

Pain

I know this sounds crazy, but I think that having my wisdom teeth removed has made me slightly healthier, at least for today.

I've been going through bottles of water cause I associate this kind of pain with ulcers, I've been sleeping a lot, hoping that when I wake up the pain will be gone, and I've been really careful with my food cause I have extreme difficulty eating.

... Of course, the downside to this is that I'm extremely miserable. :( hopefully the pain will go away by the weekend.
